God’s Subtraction

We prefer to say see you later

Dear Story Point Family,

For almost a year now, Denise and I have felt God was preparing us for something new.  As is his tendency, for quite a while God was pretty light on the details.  We began to talk and pray about what this meant for us and our family.  Last fall, God began to confirm what we had already begun to suspect (and fear if we’re honest). He was calling us away from Story Point and into a lead role. . . somewhere.  So we began to discuss the news with Dan and Sheri and quickly thereafter invited our District Superintendent Randy Craker into the conversation. The process began in earnest right after Christmas and by early February Randy came to us with an opportunity.  The entire process has been terrifyingly fast, but again that seems to be the way that God tends to work.

We are excited to announce that starting March 13, Denise and I will be taking the role of Interim Pastor at the Chelan Church of the Nazarene.  In order to give the attention and effort that the people in Chelan deserve, we will be resigning our position with Story Point after the service March 6.

We absolutely can’t wait to get up there, immerse ourselves in the community and explore how God is going to use us to build his Kingdom in Chelan.  But the flip side is that we will miss all of you terribly. From our first day here, we fell in love with the Tri-Cities. It has been our distinct honor and pleasure to serve at Story Point. You have loved us, welcomed us and treated us like family. We’ve grown along with you for the last five years, and we couldn’t be more excited about how God is going to continue to work through things like the Bible Experiment and Third Thursdays.  We will continue to keep you in our prayers and will always have a special place in our heart for the crazy, amazing and faithful group of Christ Followers at 220 W. Kennewick Avenue.

With great love,
Scott, Denise, Reagan, Noah and Logan
