This morning I read through the next several chapters of Luke’s gospel. As always…it’s great stuff, but I didn’t stumble down any rabbit holes. We got away for a couple of hours and loafed at the pool- it was nice but we were reminded of the fact that we live in a desert. (more…)

Blogs are all the rage now, and I feel cooler for having made this simple post. In the future, I hope to become an advanced blogger. Perhaps one day, I can participate in the blogging olympics. Maybe I can become one with the blog and reach the level of blog master. Until then, blog on.

Recently a friend of mine helped me to think a bit about prayer. Of course I’ve been praying for some time now and I believe in the power of prayer, I’m convinced that it’s a vital part of the life of any Christian but I wonder if I can’t pray even more often. I spent this morning working through the movements of Zechariah’s story.

Zech was a priest who was chosen to burn incense in the temple. As his friends prayed outside he stepped in to that place of mystery, the holy of holies. Once inside he was visited by the angel Gabriel who told Zech that he and his wife would have a son who would be filled with God’s spirit from birth. (more…)

This is just me wondering if I can really post my quiet time here. Will I be able to do it regularly? Do I want to post my quiet time? Is that odd? Will I be able to remain honest with myself and with God with others watching? Do I have to know a boat load of code to put things in italics or is it easy? I’ll try a test or two…
