Only by a miracle from God was this podcast created. We had a power outage 8 minutes before service. No lights, music or media. We set up candles, had prayer, invited God, had announcements, and listened to a powerful message. I could feel the Holy Spirit in that place. It was wonderful.

so, I'm a little behind in the reading... :( but today I was reading about the appointed festivals and I'm trying to picture how all this takes place...say for instance the festival of harvest...in lev. 23:18 it says 'along with the bread, present seven one-year old male lambs with no defects, one young bull, and two rams as burnt offerings to the LORD.' so i'm trying to picture this...exodus 12:37 says that there were 600,000 men, plus women and children who left Egypt. so, even if we take just the 600,000, and account for several that died before lev. 23 due to sins committed and immediate judgement/death, and we use a number, say 500,000...and each one for the festival of harvest has to bring 7 lambs, a bull and two rams...that's 10 animals per family times 500,000 families, that's 5,000,000 animals sacrificed in a single day...how many priests does it take to sacrifice 5m animals in a day? i'm just sayin...
the way verse 23 reads it leads me to believe that each family is to bring this sacrifice...am I reading it right?

another thought...as I read through all of the purification ceremony's and sin, peace, etc. offerings, with each one the priests splattered blood on the alter and/or the ark, the atonement seat, etc. when I picture all that blood and the way that blood splatters...the priests must have been covered in blood, there must have been blood standing on the floor...their robes and tassels would have been dragging in the blood...then I picture the scene in the passion of the Christ where Jesus is whipped...and later crucified and we know that in reality it was so much bloodier and more gruesome...and I wonder, did any of the priests at that time see the correlation between the sacrifices they made on a regular basis and Christ...I wonder??? did any of them have that ah-ha moment and see it?
that's all i got...thanx, patty
